We Can Do Better!
Support What Matters. Fuel What Works. Candidates Who Care.
Welcome to a Vision for a Better School and Stronger Community. We believe every child deserves access to a safe, supportive, and high-quality education, and every family deserves transparency, accountability, and leadership they can trust. Our campaign is rooted in the belief that good governance, fiscal responsibility, and open communication are the keys to a thriving school and vibrant community. Together, we can ensure a school district where students succeed, families feel confident, and every voice matters.
3-Point Improvement Plan for Hunterdon Central BOE
Wallace, Williams, and Brice understand that good governance does not happen by accident. The current Board of Education at Hunterdon Central has lost the confidence of the community. With a $78 million dollar budget and the education of our students on the line, we cannot continue with the status quo. When elected, we will implement the following 3-Point Improvement Plan to end the dysfunction that we have witnessed.
#1. Discuss Goals in Public
End the practice of setting Board and District goals BY EMAIL.
Goals are the roadmap which sets priorities for the upcoming year. Discussion and debate are essential to getting it right. When that process was bypassed this year, the district ended up with incomplete, uninspiring, and confusing goals. How the administration can work towards those goals is anybody’s guess.
#2 Create a Budget Retreat
Bring board members and administration together for an annual Budget Retreat.
A sound budget is the result of a clear understanding between the board and the administration. We will bring back the practice of holding a Budget Retreat where board members can take a deep dive into the costs associated with providing educational excellence to our students. As stewards of this institution, it is our obligation to understand, deliberate, and agree to the budget. No more excuses for not knowing what was in the budget.
#3 Deliberate in Public
Implement a new Sunshine Policy to provide ACTUAL transparency.
Board comments will once again be allowed so the public can better understand the reasoning behind decisions. Committee meeting minutes will better reflect discussions, and committee chairs will be expected to report out meaningful information to the public. We will end the performative transparency that has undermined the deliberative process.
